NITHYA NARAYANA SEVA
Daily food distribution at Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bangalore
Narayana Seva is the act of feeding the hungry with reverence and humility, and it stands as one of the most urgent forms of service in today’s world. This service is not merely for humanity but is seen as serving God Himself. Among all forms of seva, the highest is feeding the hungry—those who have yet to experience the joy and nourishment of a full meal. It is not about hosting grand dinners for those who are already well-fed but about reaching out to those in genuine need.
No one should feel pride or a sense of ownership in offering charity, for all that we give comes from God’s blessings. True charity lies in humility and devotion.
As part of the Narayan Seva initiative, food is lovingly prepared and transported to the distribution venue at the hospital by a dedicated van. The Sevadal team gathers to sing bhajans, offering the food to Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba with deep reverence. Once the offerings are made, the prasadam is carefully distributed in stainless steel plates to the Narayanas by our Sevadal members, embodying love, humility, and respect.
This compassionate service, which began on 5th December 2017, operates with unwavering devotion from Monday to Friday, serving 800 to 850 Narayanas daily, and around 500 to 550 on Saturdays. The activity continues to bring comfort, nourishment, and spiritual solace to those in need at the Kidwai Institute of Oncology in Bangalore. The ongoing service stands as a testament to the power of selfless giving and the profound impact it has on both those who serve and those who are served.
